Applied Materials signs service contract in Taiwan, terms not disclosed
SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) — Chip manufacturing equipment maker Applied Materials Inc. (AMAT) said Monday it signed a five-year service contract with Taiwan’s Green Energy Technology Inc.
Financial terms were not disclosed. Applied Materials will provide support infrastructure and service technology to Green Energy.
Applied’s “SunFab Performance Service” program “will allow us to run at the lowest possible costs and maximize our profitability,” said Hurlon Lin, president of Green Energy, in a statement.
Shares of Applied Materials slid 17 cents to $18.62 in morning trading.
